Tanushree Jana

Neeharika Chenna

HYDERABAD: They may not be professionals in the true sense. One is an exponent of Kuchipudi dance form, another a passionate mountaineer and the other person is an artist. What is common among them? Well, all the three belong to Class 2011 at the prestigious Indian School of Business (ISB) and are acquiring new skills in corporate business strategies.

Meet Neeharika Chenna, who hails from Kakinada and learnt Kuchipudi under the tutelage of noted guru, Nataraja Ramakrishna. After completing engineering course in electronics and instrumentation, Neeharika worked at Cisco systems in Benguluru before moving to ISB. Aiming to be the CEO of a firm, she told The Hindu that she preferred to work in the emerging markets as the future growth and prosperity lay there.
For Tanushree Jana, who encountered blizzards and snowstorms as a member of Himalayan expedition to Kedar Kantha (which ascends up to 13,500 feet) in Uttarkashi in 2008, the course at ISB would enable her to establish a for-profit social venture with focus on livelihoods and women's development. After finishing her engineering from a college in Mumbai, she bagged Felix scholarship to pursue M.S. in Computers Science at Oxford University. Among others, she had stints at TCS and America Online in India and Procter and Gamble in England.
Vibhuti Gupta, who is equally passionate about science and arts, completed her master's in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology from IIT Delhi. She later worked as a Life Science consultant for Kinapse, a U.K.-based company. Inclined towards arts since childhood, she draws eight different styles of paintings, including Madhubani, foil, glass Tanjore, oil calligraphy and mural works. She intends to set up a consulting firm to provide end-to-end services for pharma companies in life sciences.
